House at Guirim

Guirim, Goa

This residence is nestled between a mature coconut palm grove and a tropical fruit tree orchard. The design brief put forward by the creative couple was to create a balance between tropical contemporary Goan expression and a rustic cottage feel. The plan meanders between the trees to create spaces that look out onto paddy fields and a large internal courtyard.The house has a whitewashed first floor which is sandwiched between a large base of laterite stone masonry and a tall pitched roof.
